I always feel a bit self-conscious about photographing design products at home. Things that I buy because I admire their beauty or design - that said when I don't personally know the creatives behind the brand. Driven from a lack of personal self-confidence I suppose, that worries I won't do justice to the beautiful objects. So silly! But anyway, I have always loved the direction and feel of the sans [ceuticals] organic skin and beauty range founded by New Zealander Lucy Marr. There is something about sans that breathes simplicity and understated elegance - from the branding and packaging to the ethos itself. I recently bought a comb to have at home and this impression reinforced itself as I opened the package that arrived. It led to this personal shoot in the evening sun while the Kowhai tree outside our living room window lent itself to dappled light.
